Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO SERVICES WORK?

We operate based on pre-scheduled arrangements. We strongly recommend making reservations for any service at least 24-48 hours in advance. You can secure bookings up to a month ahead. There’s no need for enrollment to access our services; they’re available on a book-as-you-go basis.

DO WE PROVIDE SAME DAY SERVICES?

Certainly, we do offer on-demand services for the same day. However, please note that these services are subject to availability only.

CAN A CAREGIVER OR LOVED ONE RIDE WITH THE PATIENT?

Certainly! Accompanying the patient, one extra passenger is permitted. Should your loved one need additional support, we offer companion services at an additional cost.

ARE APEX DRIVERS AND CREW MEMBERS CERTIFIED OR TRAINED?

Yes, all our team members are internal employees who have undergone comprehensive pre-screening checks for criminal backgrounds, drug/alcohol history, and driving records.

Additionally, they must hold certifications in first-aid, CPR, BLS (Basic Life Support), bloodborne pathogen handling, and oxygen administration. As per our company policy at Apex NEMT Services, they regularly engage in quality control assessments throughout their tenure. These assessments are designed to uphold our commitment to delivering top-tier care and exceptional customer service. Each team member must maintain a passing grade in our internal Characteristic Assessment (C.A.) to ensure the high-quality standards our customers associate us with are consistently met.

WILL THE OUR DRIVERS WAIT AT APPOINTMENT?

We offer two optional routing services for our clients’ convenience.

The first option, Will-call, allows patients to be dropped off at their destination. When they are ready to be picked up, they can contact our dispatch department to request transportation back on the next available unit. This option is ideal for appointments lasting over 2 hours, such as dialysis, chemotherapy, outpatient surgeries, and similar.

The second option, Wait on Return, involves a driver staying onsite while the patient attends their appointment. This service is popular among patients with sensitive health conditions who prefer not to wait for the next available unit and would rather head home immediately after completing their appointment. It’s primarily utilized for general doctor’s visits or appointments that last under 2 hours.
